Who Gives a SCRAP - Colorrado Springs
Who Gives a SCRAP is a donation based scrap store that carries an impressive mix of arts and craft and hobbies supplies in addition to unique vintage finds. We carry everything from scrap booking paper to game pieces, used books and sewing patterns, the variety is a crafters dream. We believe that the reuse of goods and materials is the most efficient, environmentally friendly and economically viable way to reduce the waste stream. Our shop is open to the public and our ever changing inventory is based on individual and business donations.
Who Gives a SCRAP fills a unique market niche and community sustainability need by diverting common household and crafting materials from landfills through creative reuse and re-purposing. We receive donations of well-kept, good condition materials that are no longer needed by the owner and resell them to teachers, artists, crafters, and others who re-purpose the supplies into newly-desired final use products. This business model fulfills an important environmental function and provides affordable supplies to those who need them, both of which are valuable to the community.
Many teachers are responsible for buying their own supplies for their students and their classrooms and can spend upwards of $1000. Who Gives a SCRAP is here to help reduce the expense by offering low-cost options and a teacher discount. If you are an artist looking for inexpensive supplies, Who Gives a SCRAP is here to help. Each year we co-sponsor a teacher swap where we donate all of our excess supplies to new and incoming teachers, teachers changing grade levels or teachers just in need of supplies. This swap also provides an opportunity for out-going teachers to pass along classroom supplies that they no longer need.
